Thorsten Lehr at German Society for Internal Medicine

SafePolyMed Coordinator Thorsten Lehr from Saarland University presented the project at the 132nd Congress of the German Society of Internal Medicine (DGIM), held from 18–21 April 2026 in Wiesbaden, Germany. His presentation on medication therapy and safety in multimorbidity, titled “PREPARE: Is Pharmacogenetics Ready for – or Already Part of – Standard Care?”, highlighted the growing importance of pharmacogenetics for improving the safety and effectiveness of treatments for patients with multiple chronic conditions.

The annual DGIM Congress is one of the largest and most important medical conferences in Germany, bringing together experts from clinical practice, research, and healthcare policy to discuss the future of internal medicine. The 2026 congress focused on the theme “Paradigm Shift in Internal Medicine – Shaping the Future”, with particular attention to personalised medicine, digital health, artificial intelligence, and innovative approaches to patient care.
