Towards Safer Drug Treatment
and Enhanced Patient Empowerment

Patient Engagement Hub

The SafePolyMed Patient Engagement Hub (PEH) brings together patient organisations with extensive experience in polymedication to:

  • Provide a forum to jointly develop safety outcome reports.
  • Conceive and implement a training curriculum to help patients improve their understanding of complex drug therapies and empower them to take on a more active role in managing their treatments.
  • Collect feedback from patient experts from different diseases and healthcare areas on the validation of the Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMS) and have them vote via a Delphi process on the most relevant symptoms and side effects that affect patients' health and well-being.
  • Support the Medication Management Centre by evaluating the tool and giving feedback on the platform functions, considering the patient’s perspective and needs regarding digital health services to adhere to and manage their medication.
  • Share their input for the clinical pilot study design and use of tools.
  • Advise the SafePolyMed partners on key project aspects and tasks where the patients perspective is required and relevant.

In this networking endeavour, SafePolyMed builds on the expertise and already existing connections of all partners, particularly LeukaNET and Gospodar zdravja. The patient advocacy organisation LeukaNET has an excellent network with many relevant European patient representative organisations, while Gospodar zdravja is the creator behind the healthcare platform “HealthLord”, which connects patients and various healthcare providers.

Together with all our partners, the SafePolyMed team strives to build a network that rethinks and shapes more citizen-centred healthcare management. In this sense, the Patient Engagement Hub was created to build a strong network of patient experts, and we are deeply thankful for the support and contributions from the patient organisations that participate in this network.
