SafePolyMed Organises Training for Safety in Polypharmacy
Under the lead of project partner Patvocates GmbH, SafePolyMed will organise a free online training course on safety in polypharmacy in October.
Polymedication, that is the combination of several medications at the same time, can cause adverse drug reactions. However, not all patients, caregivers and patient advocates are aware of the risks and vulnerability factors. The course "Safety in Polypharmacy" aims at improving the knowledge of patients and caregivers, or any other interested persons, about these issues. It also aims at equipping and encouraging patients to become involved in managing their own health. Seven separate session throughout October will inform the participants about the following topics:
- Introduction to polymedication, 4.10.24, 9:00 ( all times CET)
- Drug-Drug-Interactions, 8.10.24, 16:00
- Drug-Gene- and Drug-Drug-Gene Interactions, 10.10.24, 16:00
- Vulnerability factors, 17.10.24, 12:00
- Patient reporting & PROMs, 22.10.24, 14:30
- Safety signal reporting & digital tools, 25.10.24, 14:30
- Data safety, privacy and GDPR, 31.10.24, 14:30
Each session will take 90 minutes and allow for questions and answers towards the end.

The trainings will be hosted via video meeting (Zoom) and training materials will be available on the learning platform (Moodle). Attending is free of charge. Attendants must speak English, since the training will be held in English. There will be no final exam, although certificates of attendance can be provided.
