SafePolyMed at Joint Multi-stakeholder Workshop on Pharmacogenomics
On Tuesday, 24 September 2024, Jesse Swen and George Patrinos will be representing SafePolyMed at the Multi-stakeholder Workshop on Pharmacogenomics in Amsterdam. Jesse and George will present the academic perspective on the future of pharmacogenomics. Pharmacogenomics focus on the role of the genome in individualized drug responses. In a world where the amount of genomic data and the possibilities to use this data steadily increase, this is a major opportunity for improving healthcare and the safety of medicine in Europe.
The workshop's aims are fourfold:
- to identify areas in pharmacogenomics that require further regulatory action,
- to discuss how national healthcare can take up genomics
- to discuss how genomic data can be used
- to discuss how EU-funded projects can impact personalized medicine
The workshop runs from 9.00 to 17.00 (CEST). It is organized by the European Commission (EC), the Heads of Medicines Agencies (HMA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Recordings will be available on the EMA event page a few weeks after the event. For more information, follow this link.
