The University of Patras (UPAT) is the third largest University in Greece in terms of students, faculty members, administrative personnel, number of departments and degrees awarded. The Laboratory of Pharmacogenomics and Individualized Therapy of the Department of Pharmacy, UPAT, is the first laboratory of pharmacogenomics and individualized therapy in Greek Academia and is actively involved in research, clinical studies, training and provision of services in the field of Pharmacogenomics and Individualized Therapy. It is world-renowned for its expertise and high level of wet-lab, and dry-lab as well as public health research, all mainly focused on the field of pharmacogenomics and individualized therapy and has successfully participated in many international consortia and research programs, having a significant publication track-record in high-quality scientific journals.

Role within SafePolyMed

In SafePolyMed, UPAT will participate in the pilot study to study genotype-phenotype correlations of patients receiving polypharmacy, focusing in particular on psychiatric patients and actively involved in the dissemination of the project.
